Founded in March 1995, Restaurant Los Danzantes is a study in contrasts: a warm colonial building constructed with volcanic stones and natural nopales surrounding it; a delightful bar carved by Joel Rendón and traditional tones of Mexican music set to a modern rhythm; and, of course, a menu that features regional ingredients shining out in fresh, innovative combinations and fusion cooking. |

Coyoacán has been an active centre since 720 B.C., first settled by the ancient Náhuatl, and later by Hernán Cortés who arrived in 1520 B.C. and founded the small country town of "Villa de Coyoacán". It has beautiful tree-lines streets and 16th century buildings, like the church of San Juan Bautista in the main plaza. You will also find the Frida Kahlo museum nearby. Maybe because Coyoacán is so special Hernan Cortés wished to be buried in the Monastery of La Concepción, but the monastery was not built, so his wish was not fulfilled, but there remains a beautiful plaza called La Conchita… In Coyoacan there's an abundance of options for visitors, such as museums, art gallerys, cafes, theatres, ice-cream parlours and many speciality bookstores such as the famous Gandhi, where you'll find anything to do with art, literature, music, religion, philosophy, mythology, cults, magic.

Peek inside! – you´ll be surprised at what you find tucked away from the noise of the city. You will be drawn by the scent of hierba santa, cuitlacoche, flor de calabaza... House of the Holy Cross – Casa de la Santa Cruz It was built (for Dr. Luis Flamenco Labastida in 1950) and is a restoration project of cultural patrimony, recently restored within the frame work of colonial architecture with a contemporary feel. In this space full with spirit, stop a while, enjoy its romantic terrace with lovely views. The cultural tourism complex has a variety of stores and services that you should not miss. |
